WEDDING WORKSHOP

Design Your Day is a two part wedding workshop that will guide you through the design process to bring your dream wedding to life.

GUIDED WORKSHOP

approximately 1 hour

During Part One, Kayla Lagos and her team will take couples through a guided workshop on how to create a vision and design their wedding day. From choosing an impactful colour palette, to elevating existing ideas, we will help you take your design from ordinary to extraordinary.

Each couple will receive a customized workbook to make this experience unique and tailored to your wedding day. We will give each couple custom suggestions within their workbook and will be there to answer your questions throughout both portions of the workshop.

 

We will chat through the do's and don'ts for creating the perfect tablescape, and give you tips on how to maximize your decor throughout your wedding day. We will help you determine which types of rentals or purchases you will need to to bring your vision to life, as well as how many of each item will bring the look together. 

 

In working with many different venues and vendors, our team has expert knowledge to facilitate a smooth and stress-free planning process that will turn your inspiration into a tangible design plan.

CREATE & MINGLE

approximately 2 hours

Part Two will allow you to mix, mingle and create! In this part of the workshop, you will be able to take some time to look at our curated displays as well as play and create a tablescape that fits within your wedding vision. We will provide a light bite to eat, a mimosa (or two), coffee and you won't want to miss our curated dessert table!

 

We have done all the work for you and have brought our preferred vendors all in one space. You will have everything you need to create the vision you see in your inspiration photos at the workshop. Take the knowledge you learned from Part One of the workshop to look through our curated assortment of rentals to pick and choose which items will best match your vision. Being able to see, touch and feel rentals from different vendors in one space will make your overall decision-making process easier!

We want to make sure you have the best experience possible which is why we are keeping this a small and exclusive event. We will be limiting the amount of spaces available in order for us to ensure this is a hands-on mentoring experience with one-on-one time with each of the couples that attend.

 

We want you to leave feeling creative, refreshed and have all of your questions answered so this remains a positive wedding planning experience for you. The best part is you get to spend your Sunday with a mimosa or coffee in hand to have a productive and fun wedding planning day!

THE DETAILS

Who: Newly engaged couples currently planning their wedding

Where: The Pavillion at Assiniboine Park

When: March 10th, 2024 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Investment: $275 + taxes & fees for 1 ticket package (two seats)

Each ticket package includes two seats. Bring your soon to be spouse, best friend, family member, someone from your wedding party, or a trusted decision making partner.

*Tickets are non-refundable but are transferable to another couple if you are no longer able to attend. Please email us for further information.

"When I sat down to start planning & designing my wedding, I thought I could and should do it on my own, so that everything was just to my liking. I soon realized that I had no clue where to resource decor, no clue how to maximize venue space, no clue how to reach out to all vendors. So I set up an initial meeting with Kayla after seeing her work through social media. She gave me a questionnaire, and we chatted on the phone and I told her a very loose, erratic detailing of what I wanted. She later sent me a whole preliminary design presentation…and I was in AWE. She had taken my scattered thoughts and organized them into a vision that was my own. From there, I was able to see some things that I had initially thought I wanted, but tweaked them to feel more like me.  I wanted a classic, elegant wedding, but with sprinkles of moody rock n roll. For example, she suggested switching the flowers from colourful to just white, and then utilizing colour in the tablecloth’s and neon signs at the reception. That way, we could repurpose the floral designs in both the ceremony (the classic, elegant portion) AND reception (the moody rock n roll vibe). She showed me pictures of how both would look so I could really envision both options (colour vs. white florals). We had many meetings after that. I came with notes (planning with a wedding designer is SO fun for us type A brides!!), and we nailed every last detail down together. Things like where to print signage, what heights to hang the ceiling disco balls, where to place the extra candles, colour of napkins, a ‘photo op’ space on the patio, shelving for the ceremony champagne toast for guests. I would’ve never thought about half these things. I mentioned to her kind of in passing that it would be SO cool to have an old fashioned phone booth for our audio guestbook to be in…and the NEXT meeting she had sourced one (and in budget!)!!!!!! The day before our wedding, Kayla and her team came and set the whole venue up, and I watched as our design came to life. A romantic, timeless, and elegant ceremony, and a rock n roll, party-esqe reception. I could cry thinking about it now. Not only did Kayla make our wedding EPIC, but the process along the way was so fun. I wasn’t stressed because I knew I had Kayla in my corner, and anything I was forgetting, she sure as heck wasn’t! I truly cannot say enough great things about Kayla. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for the wedding design of our dreams ."
